OUR STORY,
My name is Pedro Pereyra, and I have been a professional event/portrait photographer for almost a decade! I started my photography career right here in Peabody, MA. Back then, I was thirty something years old when I decided to turn my new found passion for photography into a business. As you can probably guess, this was not easy to explain to your friends and family that you are going into business for yourself. Your always going to get a bit of apprehension from everyone, but don't let it stop you! I bought a camera and a computer and starting practicing. I was photographing everything and everyone, including friends and family. I was doing photo sessions on location or in someones kitchen, setting up my backdrops to cover backgrounds. It was a slow, and humble beginning when you are not making any money.
TRUST THE PROCESS,
As a bit of time passed by, I started to get better and better with my photos. Those free photo sessions and events I'd done in the past where eventually getting some referral clients and small pay. But I was happy I was no longer doing free work. I invested any little penny back in the business, most times not even paying myself. Can't pay your self in the beginning when you are not that known and have studio rent due, equipment to buy or maintain. As the years came and went we starting to grow more and more. I was doing weddings, quinceaneros, portraits, etc. You never break the bank as an artist, but I could finally say I was self employed as a photographer living my dream.
WHERE ARE WE NOW,
Fast forward from years of being an event/portrait photographer, I started to get burnt out of doing events. I took some time off to reinvent myself. I decided not to do events anymore and concentrate only on portraits/studio photography. So in October of 2021, I found the most beautiful location in downtown Peabody, MA, close to 2000 sf. Its just a perfect for a photo studio. Bright, big, and conveniently located in Boston's North Shore! That's where I invite you to come!
